Preparation for First Eucharist

Students receive First Eucharist, or Holy Communion, in the second grade after having made their First Reconciliation. They must be registered parishioners and attend Mass every Sunday. Students in Catholic grade school and our Faith Formation program study for two years and are catechized for this sacrament during their religion classes. Families with students preparing for the sacrament are also asked to attend Generations of Faith classes once a month as a family.

Special classes are available for older students who may not yet have received the sacrament.

Please contact Jeannine Martin, our Director of Faith Formation for more information or to enroll in classes. 336-294-4696 X 225.

First Eucharist will be celebrated on Good Shepherd Sunday, April 24th and 25th at all Masses. A reception will be held immediately following the Masses in Fellowship Hall. All are invited to come and congratulate our new First Communicants.

All First Communicants are personally invited by our Bishop, Most Reverend Peter J. Jugis, to lead the Procession through the streets of Charlotte during our upcoming Eucharistic Congress scheduled for September 10th and 11th at the Charlotte Convention Center. For more information, Please contact Jeannine Martin.
