The Oblates of St. Francis De Sales, founded in France in 1875 by Fr. Louis Brisson, is a congregation of priests, deacons, and brothers who first came to the United States in 1893. The motto of the Oblates is to Live Jesus, to imitate Christ, following the spirit and teachings of St. Francis De Sales, a gentle and devout Bishop who ministered in France during the years of the Reformation. The Oblates have been serving the Catholic people of North Carolina since 1966 in both the Dioceses of Charlotte and of Raleigh.
